Anisotropic Tensile Moduli

Test ID
M-010

Description
A universal testing machine (UTM) is used to determine and report tensile modulus of elasticity (Young's modulus) in two directions.  Straight-sided specimens are machined from plaques and loaded between the grips of the UTM.  An extensometer is attached to the sample.  Sample is stretched at a constant speed while load and strain data are recorded.  Five replicates are performed in each direction.
Standards
ASTM D638
ISO 527
Data
Tensile modulus in two directions are reported. This data appears in Matereality as Tensile Properties.
Replicates (# of times this test is repeated)

Samples
12 - plaques (4 x 12in) [details]

Application

Used to develop transversely orthotropic material models of simple elastic behavior.
