Foam Compressibility
D-032
Description
The capillary rheometer is used with a confining fluid (default is water). The pressure port is plugged, and a force transducer is used to determine pressure. The barrel is loaded with a known volume of confining fluid and a pre-weighed and measured sample. The piston is brought down onto the sample at a constant rate. The height of the piston is recorded as a function of force. By knowing the initial dimensions of the material, a volumetric stress versus volumetric strain curve is calculated.
