Description
A Dynatup POE 2000 apparatus is used to impact a specimen. Specimens are bars with dimensions specified in ASTM and notched accordingly. Specimen is placed horizontally, with notch centered opposite of impact side. Machine is connected to a computer to generate a load deflection curve. At a set velocity and energy, pendulum is released to impact specimen. Test is complete when pendulum completes one swing. Five replicates are performed.

Application
