Description
Properties needed for most VEL modules are generated. These include viscosity vs. shear rate at three temperatures; melt thermal conductivity specific heat, melt density at process conditions.

Simulations of non-isothermal extrusion applications using the following VEL modules may be carried out: Material Database Calculations, Profile Die, Flow 2D, Flow 3D, Flat Die, Spiral Die and Multi-Layer modules. This Testpak must be used to characterize materials whose melt state thermodynamic properties are unknown or need to be determined more accurately. This is important in cases where the temperature gradients in the configuration being simulated are large. Visco-elastic effects are assumed to be insignificant.
