Holometrix Laser Flash Apparatus

Description

A laser is used to fire a short pulse at the surface of a thin disk specimen. The heat transfered through the specimen results in a temperature rise on the other surface that is measured by an infra-red detector. Analysis of this temperature change allows determination of thermal diffusivity.

Operating Range

Sample Diameter: 12.7 mm ± 0.1 mm
Sample Thickness: 1 mm to 3 mm
Temperature Range: ambient to 300°C
Thermal Diffusivity Range: 0.001 to 10 cm²/sec
Thermal Conductivity Range: 0.05 to 2000 W/mK

Application
