Properties needed to perform a Moldflow injection mold-filling simulation are generated. Viscosity at 3 temperatures (two in the processing range and one below) and thermal properties are measured. Viscosity data are fit to Moldflow models.

These properties permit the prediction of the flow of plastic throughout the injection molding cycle to ensure acceptable quality parts that are designed for manufacture. Mold cooling analysis can also be performed to optimize mold and cooling circuit design and achieve uniform mold cooling within the minimum cycle time for injection molding and gas injection molding.
