PAM-Comfort Foam (Static)
Tests are performed on the base seat foam material. Specimens are tested in compressive mode with the samples being pre-strained three times to 80% strain and then allowed to recover for 5 minutes between each cycle. A stepwise loading is then performed on the specimens in which they are loaded to 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80%, where each strain level is held for ten minutes and the stress relaxation is recorded. In addition, a tensile test is performed on the foam blocks. The foam is adhered to plates that are pulled apart at a slow rate and the stress-strain data is recorded.

Testing is performed to generate data to be used in the PAM Comfort FOAM_STATIC_01 & 02 material cards. This TestPak may be combined with other PAM Comfort TestPaks to simulate static behavior of seat systems.
