Tensile Stress-Strain, Strength, and Modulus using 2D DIC

Test ID

M-204V 2D

Description

A universal testing machine (UTM) is used to determine modulus, tensile strength at yield or break, and stress-strain curves. The test specimen is loaded between the grips of the UTM. 2D DIC is used to capture strain and determine strain at the localized yield point. Post yield Poisson's ratio may also be provided. The specimen is stretched at a constant speed while load and strain are recorded. The speed of testing is specified by the relevant standard. NOTE: speeds below 1 mm/min are subject to a surcharge due to long test duration.

Options

Measurements at speeds slower than 1 mm/min are feasible. Additional charges may apply for long duration tests or if test temperatures exceed 200°C .

Standards

  • ASTM D638
  • ASTM E8
  • ISO 527-1
