Coefficient of Friction (Static and Dynamic)M-060

Description

A universal testing machine (UTM) is used to determine the static and dynamic coefficient of friction. Specimen is attached to a sled, placed on a substrate provided by client, and dragged along that surface. Force required to initially move specimen and the force required to pull the sled in steady state motion are recorded, and coefficients of friction calculated from the results. Five replicates are performed. This test can not be performed at nonambient temperatures.
