Thick Adhesive Shear TestM-219TAST
Description
Specimens are prepared by bonding two rigid substrates with the adhesive that is to be measured. The rigid substrates are moved in opposite directions imposing shear deformation on the adheisve layer. Stress and displacement are recorded.
Options
Can be performed at sub and above ambient temperatures.
Standards
- EN 2243-1
- Non-Standard Lap Shear
Data
Engineering Stress-Displacement Curve. This data appears in Matereality as Shear Properties.
Replicates
Number of times this test is repeated: 5
Samples
Application
Used to determine shear behavior of adhesive materials. Mainly used for rigid structural adhesives. Valid failures only occur when the adhesive fails and not delaminates from the substrate, therefore proper bonding is critical to the success of this test.
